Thanks to the generosity of our Board of Trustees, ABM’s International Advisory Council members, and a generous lead gift, the Museum is breaking ground on the construction of a new center dedicated to the care and maintenance of our permanent boat and engine collections. Our fundraising goal for the construction is $3.5 million and we are well on our way with more than half of our goal raised in pledges and gifts.
The new structure will provide dedicated spaces to meet the demands for professional repair of our permanent collection. But even more importantly, it will expand the Museum’s educational impact by creating a setting for year-round classes, potential apprenticeships, and collaborations with higher education institutions. Since ABM is chartered through New York State’s Education Department, this building will serve as a learning center too.
The Museum has evolved into a national institution making substantial economic and cultural contributions to Clayton, the North Country Region, and the preservation of North America’s maritime heritage. We will always strive to be better. The year ahead is exciting for ABM and we hope you will be a part of the newly constructed Boatyard!
Please consider making a generous contribution or pledge to the Boatyard Campaign. Your gift will have a real impact at the Antique Boat Museum.
